In unit 4 we are dealing with relationships. Cinema through time has offered incredible love stories full of difficulties. Here you have four examples. Do you know something about the plot? If not, can you guess?

I rarely watch these films on the big screen, I sometimes watch them on TV years after. But, these four films, I've NEVER got a chance to see them. What's more, except for Notting Hill, I wasn't even aware of their existence!
ResponderEliminarRomantic movies' plots are often rather insane, the lovers do all kinds of fancy things to impress their significant one: either very embarrasing or outright illegal! The good thing about these fims is that some parts make you laugh, that's why I even bother watching them.

First to say that indeed I haven't seen any of these movies.
Although, I would like see ''Notting Hill'' , because appears my favorite actress, Julia Roberts.
Also, I discovered that the name ''Notting Hill'' is the name of a district of London.
My friend I told me that this film is very good... The man is William "Will" Thacker (Hugh Grant) owns an independent bookshop in Notting Hill that specialises in travel writing.
The woman is Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) a famous person.
He encounters Hollywood star actress Anna when she enters his shop to buy a book. Minutes later, the pair collide in the street.
The problem is that Will spills his orange juice on her. He offers his house and Anna accepts and then having changed, they kiss.
BEGINS THE LOVE STORY!
Richard disappears from the city when it was going to marry Jackie, after 11 years,when he returns to his city, he enconter that Jackie, the love of his life is getting married with a doctor.
ResponderEliminarRichard ( Kaj-Erik Eriksen ) is a journalist and Jackie Belle (Christine Chatelain) is mayor.
Richard wants to flee, but he appears to 52 years. Richard will begin to fight for Jackie.
The film begins with a voiceover from David (Hugh Grant) commenting that whenever he gets gloomy with the state of the world he thinks about the arrivals terminal at Heathrow Airport, and the pure uncomplicated love felt as friends and families welcome their arriving loved ones. David's voiceover also relates that all the messages left by the people who died on the 9/11 planes were messages of love and not hate. The film then tells the 'love stories' of many people:

ResponderEliminarAnna is a very rich and beatiful woman. She did a trip to New York where she stayed in the very famous Hilton Hotel for 3 weeks. There she met an interesting and handsome barman called Charlie. They were in love so they were together all day but there was a problem. Anna's father didn't want them to be in love because Charlie wasn't rich. Anna was very sad, but she decided to marry Charlie in New York. They live there with their children.

The plot is this. A lot of girls fall in love with Troy but he only wants Gabriella and he tries to win over the girl. He intelligent girl falls in love with Troy but he´s so porpular that their love is imposible.

John is a soldier from a poor family. He meets a girl, Savannah; she works in a group to defend the humanity. They fall in love but, the problem is that, John is a soldier and his leave finished. He must go back to the army. They have to struggle with the distance between them. Sometimes, they phone each other and every week, they send letters, but eventually, Savannah forgets John. She tells him that she met a man. John was sad and he didn’t want to return. The next year, he visits her and she was married. However, her husband has got Cancer. Then John helps them financially. His life has changed radically since he meets the love.
Noa's notebook. When Allie Hamilton is still a teenager it is going to happen the summer with his family to Seabrook. There Allie will know Noa Calhoun, a local boy with which he falls in love passionatly. In this summer that will mark his lives, the two swear to be loved forever, and believe that they are destined to live always united though she is of a wealthy family and him a hard-working poor person of factory. But certain circumstances, as the snap of the Second World war, separate Allie and Noa, though both keep the recollection alive in his hearts of other one. Some years later, Noa returns from the war and Allie, though also he is in Seabrook, is compromised by Lon, a rich soldier whom it knew while it was doing volunteer works in a military hospital. Allie has gone out irrevocably of Noa's life but not of his heart. The decades happen and we can see how a man called Duke reads an old and discolored passbook to a woman whom he visits regularly in the old people's home. Though his recollections have vanished, it fascinates the emotive history of Allie and Noa and, during a few moments, there is capable of re-living the passionate and turbulent epoch in that they swore to spend the rest of his life together.

Tom want to be an architect,but works as a writer at a greeting card company in Los Angeles.One night in a bar Tom's friends reveals that Tom is attracted to Summer but she tells him that she doesn't believe in true love, and doesn't want a boyfriend but they become to be friends and although they don't know it they fall in love, Tom and summer have a argument because tom claims to summer that they are a couple but summer just wants to enjoy the life without a boyfriend and she leaves her job.
Tom sees summer again and she is wearing an engagement ring and Summer explains that he was right about the existence of true love and that she discovered in someone else all the feelings she had never been sure about with Tom. He decided to go at a job interview and meets a girl who is also applying for the same job, her name is Autumn.

In an old people's home, a man reads to a woman a history of love written in his old notebook of notes beacuse she has Alvheimer's. It is Noah's history (Ryan Gosling) and Allie (Rachel McAdams), two teen young women of North Carolina who, although they are of different social class, fell in love deeply and to happen together an unforgettable summer, before being separated, first for his parents, and later for the war.

Denis Finch Hatton, played by Robert Redford, a professional hunter with a free spirit who will steal your heart to Karen, a beautiful gift so special love story, with a mature but deep love between two lonely characters.

Girl: Satine (Sparkling Diamond) is the star of Moulin Rouge, she is very beautiful and all the men want to stay with her. She has a serious desease and she is dying.
Boy: Christian, a bohemian English writer, he had never found love before meeting Satine.
Problem: If Santine has a relationship with a famous duke he will pay a lot of money to convert the Moulin Rouge in a theatre. So Satine has to make the important decision between choosing real love with Christian or the duke's money. In addition, her lovers are suffering because of her horrible disease.

Rafe has an affair with Evelyn Johnson, a beautiful and courageous

Danny and Evelyn fall in love after mistakenly believe that Rafe had
died in England on a mission, mission to which he had voluntarily
enlisted without telling either (Danny and Evelyn).
The film is based on their love story to three bands in a context in
which the tragic war involves them in a bloody attack on a military
base in Pearl Harbor in Hawaii by the Japanese troops.
The story is set in World War II, particularly when the U.S. entered
the war because the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, U.S. Pacific
base.
The storyline connects two episodes of World War II such as the attack
on Pearl Harbor and the first bombing of Japan, launched from aircraft
carriers in retaliation. Among the most historic part of the movie,
love story intertwines the three bands.

Of all these films, my favorite is'' Roman Holiday'' which deals with Sanne (Audrey Hepburn) is a girl tired of her things like a princess.

The trouble is that encounter a friendly but American correspondent liar evil intentions.
Love all the bustle cast to ruin, and it is already known ... You can not mix business with pleasure.
One of the most love movies I liked, I encourage you to see.

In the early twentieth century, Karen Blixen decides to marry his cousin, Baron Bror Blixen-Finecke and go live in one of the British colonies in Africa, particularly Kenya, to run a coffee plantation. This marriage of convenience soon breaks down, due to the philandering of her husband and lack of love. Her dream is truncated by the economic difficulties of the plantation, but is happy because gradually is more comfortable with the place and its people. Meet there at a professional hunter, Denys Finch Hatton, adventurous and liberal, which makes it regain the joy of living. But his vision of love differs respectively, because he does not conceive of life without her independence and she needs a faithful companion. A fire destroyed the coffee crop is ruined and Karen, having to return to Europe, and although at that time they were separated, Denys offers to help. Shortly after World War occurs.

Shrek is an ogre who lives in a swamp and is poor. When going to ask a nobleman who take care of your home is asked to change to bring you a princess, Shrek ignores him and goes for it, finds it but falls for her and eventually end up marrying
